The Fisher Cats got some great pitching in their doubleheader against the Defenders it’s just unfortunate that the hitting wasn’t there as well.  Still, they did win one, they just need a shutout to get it.

David Purcey was phenomonal in his seven inning complete game shutout in the first game.  Even more impressive, he shutout eleven and he’s struck out eighteen versus two walks in 13 1/3 total innings and he’s given up just one earned run.  The lone run of the game came on a sac. fly by Robinson Diaz that scored Wayne Lydon.

In the second game, the pitching gave up just two runs but the hitters scored just one.  The lone run was an RBI double by John Schneider and a solid start by Jesse Litsch went to waste.  He gave up just two unearned runs on three hits and three walks with three strikeouts in five innings.
