Victor Zambrano improved to 2-1 on the season with a nice start in the Chiefs 7-2 win over Charlotte. He gave up two runs on two hits with three walks and eight strikeouts in seven innings.
Kevin Barker was the hitting star in the win. He went two for four with a solo homerun and two runs. John-Ford Griffin went one for four with a homerun, two RBIs and two runs.
The Chiefs got nothing from their hitters in an 8-0 loss to the Yankees. Wayne Lydon was the hitting star from the leadoff spot. He went two for three with a double, a triple and a walk.

Ryan Houston fell to 1-2 on the season with a very rough relief appearance in the Chiefs’ 8-4 loss to Richmond. He gave five runs on five hits and a walk with one strikeout in just 2/3 of an inning.
Mike Vento was the hitting star in the loss. He went two for three with a homerun, three RBIs and two runs.
Michael MacDonald fell to 2-4 on the season with a rough start in the Chiefs’ 8-3 loss to Richmond. He gave up five runs on eight hits and a walk with five strikeouts in seven innings.
Erik Kratz provided all of the offense for the Chiefs with one swing of the bat. He belted a three run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning.
Josh Banks improved to 6-4 on the season with a nice start in the Chief’s 6-4 win over Toledo. He gave up two runs on five hits and a walk with six strikeouts in six solid innings.

John Thomson fell to 2-4 on the season with a rough start in the Chiefs 12-3 loss to the Mud Hens. He gave up six runs on seven hits and four walks with six strikeouts in five innings.

Ty Taubenheim dropped to 3-5 on the season with a mixed start in the Chiefs 5-2 loss to the Mud Hens. He gave up four runs on seven hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings.

The Chiefs won two yesterday and they did it with some top notch pitching. In the first game, Ty Taubenheim threw seven shutout innings to improve to 3-4 on the season. He gave up just two hits and two walks and he struck out eight. Wayne Lydon went two for three with a run in the 4-0 win.
In the second game, Ismael Ramirez picked up his first win of the season for Dunedin in a 8-1 win. He improved to 1-4 and he gave up one run on five hits and two walks with three strikeouts. Russ Adams was the hitting star and he went three for four with two doubles, three RBIs and a run.
Michael MacDonald dropped to 2-3 on the season with a rough start in the Chiefs 5-2 loss. He gave up five runs (four earned) on nine hits and two walks with one strikeout in five innings.
John-Ford Griffin was the hitting star in the loss. He went two for four with a solo homerun.
Josh Banks took the loss in this game and while he did fall to 5-3 on the season, it was the pen that really put this out of reach in the 9-2 loss. Banks gave up three runs in 6 2/3 innings while the pen was tagged for six runs in the eighth inning alone.

The Chiefs managed just six hits in their 6-0 loss to the Mud Hens. Chad Mottola was the only Chief with two hits and he went two for four with a double.

The Chiefs remained one of the hottest team in the minor leagues when they edged the Clippers in ten innings for their ninth straight win. Curtis Thigpen drove in a run in the bottom of the ninth on a sac. fly to send the game into extra frames and then John-Ford Griffin tripled home Kevin Barker in the bottom of the tenth to win it. Barker finished the game two for three with a homerun, two RBIs and two runs.
Jordan De Jong improved to 2-0 with three shutout innings of relief pitching. He gave up one hit and three walks with three strikeouts.
The Chief’s beat the Clippers 6-5 and it was their eighth straight win. The game winner was a walk off RBI single by John-Ford Griffin. He finished the game with two RBIs and Russ Adams homered and drove in two runs.
Blaine Neal picked up the win and he improved to 4-3 on the season. He gave up just one hit in a shutout ninth.
