Nathan Starner improved to 8-7 on the season with a solid start in the Lugnuts 8-1 win over Wisconsin. He gave up one run on eight hits with nine strikeouts in six innings of work.
Jonathan Jaspe went one for two with a double, three RBIs and a run. Scott Campbell went two for three with a walk and three runs.
Lugnut hitters picked up just one run on five hits in their 6-1 loss to Fort Wayne. Travis Snider drove in the only run of the game and Scott Campbell singled and scored a run.
A really good start by Zachary Dials went to waste. He gave up one run on four hits and a walk with four strikeouts in seven innings. Po-Hsuan Keng was shelled and he took the loss when he gave up five runs in the final two innings.
The Lugnuts and Fort Wayne each took a game in their doubleheader. In the first game, Reidier Gonzalez was just good enough a 4-3 win. He improved to 3-0 and he gave up three runs on eight hits and one walk with four strikeouts in six innings. Scott Campbell went two for four with an RBI.
The second game didn’t go nearly as well as the Lugnuts lost 5-2. Chris Reddout gave up three runs in three innings and he dropped to 2-1 on the season. Raul Barron tripled, drove in a run and scored.
The Lugnuts offense was held in check in their 4-3 loss to the Dragons. All three runs came via the long ball. Matthew Lane hit a two run homer while Scott Campbell hit a solo shot.
Kyle Ginley had a mediocre start but he didn’t take the loss. He gave up three runs on six hits and one walk with three strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings. Po-Hsuan Keng took the loss when he gave up the losing run in the eighth inning.
The Lugnuts lost 4-3 to Wisconsin and they picked up just four hits in the game. Travis Snyder doubled, acored a run and drove in one. Scott Campbell doubled, walked twice and scored a run.
Chase Lirette had a tough start. He gave up four runs on seven hits and one walk with five strikeouts in six innings of work.
Lugnut pitchers gave up nine runs on thirteen hits today in a blow out loss to Cedar Rapids. Kyle Ginley took the loss and he dropped to 0-2. He gave up five runs (two earned) on five hits and a walk with four strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings.
Scott Campbell drove in two runs in the loss. Yuber Rodriguez went two for four with a double and two runs.
Kyle Ginley was hammered and he gave up most of the damage in the Lugnuts 13-6 win over Beloit. He gave up seven runs on eight hits and two walks with five strikeouts in just 2 2/3 innings. All three relievers also gave up at least a run in the loss.
Jonathan Diaz went two for four with a triple, a run and an RBI. Scott Campbell went two for four with two runs.
Travis Snider had an excellent game at the plate in the Lugnuts 6-3 win over the Cougars. He went three for five with a double, a triple, an RBI and two runs. Sean Shoffit and Josh Bell both had two hits and two RBIs while Scott Campbell doubled twice and scored two runs.
A.J. Wideman improved to 2-0 with a solid start. He gave up two runs (one earned) on eight hits and three walks with two strikeouts in five innings of work.
Lansing scored seven runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a 7-2 lead only to see their relief pitchers give up four runs in the next two innings to make it 7-6. That’s all the Cougars would get though as Lansing held on for the 7-6 win. Yuber Rodriguez had a nice game with two hits, two RBIs and a run. Scott Campbell went one for three with a double, two walks, two RBIs and a run.
Chris Reddout picked up the win relief. He gave up one run in 2 1/3 innings.
