The Fisher Cats lost their 2nd game in a row on Thursday against the Trenton Thunder 5-3 and have their record at a division worst 14-26. The Cats actually had a chance to win this game as they were leading all the way through 6 innings but when the 7th came Trenton scored 4 runs to take the 5-3 lead.
Center fielder and lead off man Aaron Mathews had a good game for the Cats but his effort just wasn’t enough. He hit 1-of-5 with 2 RBI but 2 Ks. His batting average now stands at .301 and his RBI total sits at 21. The only other RBI came off the bat of SS Ryan Klosterman who went 2-for-2 including a triple with 1 RBI, a run scored and 2 walks. His batting average is at .232 and his RBI total is 9.
A.J. Wideman took the mound for the Cats and didn’t exactly have the kind of start the team was looking for. He working 6 2/3rd inning allowing 8 hits, 4 runs, all earned, 1 walk and 2 Ks. He had a chance at the win but because of the late inning collapse he gets instead a loss. His record now stands at 1-6 with a 7.06 ERA. Sean Stidfole is credited with the blown save for his performance as he gave up 2 hits, 1 runs, 1 K and 1 homer. The BS is his 1st of the season and his ERA stands at 4.15.
Next: New Hampshire will play the final 2 games of the series against Trenton looking to at least pull out a win.
The Fisher Cats ran up the score in their 11-5 win over the Seawolves. Rob Cosby went three for five with a double, three RBIs and a run. Ryan Klosterman hit a grand slam and Robinzon Diaz went four for five with two runs.
Kyle Yates picked up the win and he improved to 5-2 on the season. He gave up two runs on eight hits and three walks with two strikeouts in five innings.
The Fisher Cats lost both games in their doubleheader against New Britain and they scored only a single run in each of the two games. The first loss was a 9-1 blowout where Kurt Isenberg was shelled. He dropped to 1-2 and he gave up nine runs in 3 2/3 innings. Ryan Klosterman drove in the only run and the team was held to four hits.
The second game was closer but the end result was the same. John Schneider singled and scored a run while Jesse Litsch dropped to 5-2 on the season. He gave up four runs (two earned) on six hits and a walk with four strikeouts in six innings.
Rob Cosby singled home Ryan Klosterman in the bottom of the ninth to win for the Fisher Cats. The final run was the final touch on a comeback from a 3-0 deficit. Robinzon Diaz also played a role in the win. He went two for four with a double and a run.
Tracy Thorpe picked up the win with 1 2/3 innings of shutout relief. He gave up a walk and he struck out one in the win.
Chip Cannon had a huge day at the plate in the Fisher Cats 9-6 win over Binghamton. He went three for six with two doubles, a homerun, two RBIs and two runs. Ryan Klosterman went two for four with two doubles, three runs and one RBI while Rob Cosby went three for five with a homerun and two RBIs.
Russ Savickas was mediocre in this start but he improved to 2-2 with all of the offense. He gave up four runs (two earned) on five hits and five walks with two strikeouts in five innings.
