The Lugnuts were pretty much completely shut down in a 4-1 loss to the White Caps. Matthew Lane was the only Lugnut with two hits and he also drove in the only run for the Lugnuts with a solo homerun.
Kyle Ginley fell to 1-5 on the season with the loss. He gave up three runs on four hits and three walks with four strikeouts in four innings.
The Lugnuts had a decent enough day at the plate, their pitchers just didn’t get it done on the mound. Nathan Starner was hit for four runs in four innings in his start but it was Julio Pinto who took the loss. He gave up three runs in his single inning of work.
Matthew Lane hit a two run homer in the 7-4 loss. Brian Pettway went two for four with a double and a run.
He didn’t take the loss, but Zachary Dials had one of those outings that he’d rather forget. When it was all said and done, he was credited with eight runs on six hits and two walks in the Lugnuts 14-10 loss to South Bend.
Sean Shoffit hit a grand slam in the loss and Matthew Lane went two for four with a homerun, three RBIs and two runs. In all, the Lugnuts belted four homeruns but it wasn’t enough with the poor pitching.
The Lugnuts offense was held in check in their 4-3 loss to the Dragons. All three runs came via the long ball. Matthew Lane hit a two run homer while Scott Campbell hit a solo shot.
Kyle Ginley had a mediocre start but he didn’t take the loss. He gave up three runs on six hits and one walk with three strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings. Po-Hsuan Keng took the loss when he gave up the losing run in the eighth inning.
The Lugnuts took both of their games in a doubleheader sweep over the White Caps. The first game was a 13-6 win with plenty of offense. Matthew Lane had three hits and four RBIs while Travis Snider went two for four with two RBIs and two runs. Reidier Gonzalez improved to 2-0 and he gave up four runs in six innings.
The second game was a 7-1 win with Adrian Martin having another nice start. He gave up one run on five hits with six strikeouts in six innings. Brian Pettway went two for three with two RBIs and two runs while Raul Barron went two for three with a triple, two RBIs and a run.
The Lugnuts beat the White Caps 6-2 and Matthew Lane led the way for the Lugnuts at the plate. He went three for four with a double, three RBIs and a run.
Graham Godfrey improved to 2-1 with a solid start. He gave up two runs on six hits and two walks with four strikeouts in five innings of work.
Yuber Rodriguez had just one hit but he drove in three runs in the Lugnuts 10-5 win over the Loons. Matthew Lane went three for five with two doubles, two runs and an RBI.
Chase Lirette had a rough start but he picked up the win with all of offense. He gave up five runs on six hits and one walk with four strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings.
Lansing topped Wisconsin 2-1 and Matthew Lane singled home both of the Lugnuts runs in the sixth inning. Brian Pettway singled, drew a walk and scored a run.
Kyle Ginley struck out seven and gave up one run in four innings of work in his start. Adrian Martin picked up the win with two shutout innings of relief.
