Manuel Mayorson singled home Ryan Klosterman in the bottom of the tenth inning to win it as the Fisher Cats edged the Curve 6-5. Ryan Patterson had a nice day at the plate in the win as well. He went three for five with a double and two RBIs.
Jo Matumoto picked up the win with a shutout tenth inning. He did give up two hits and he struck out one and the win pushed his record to 3-3 on the season.
The Fisher Cats and New Britain each took a game in their doubleheader. New Britain took the first game 9-8 Russ Savickas was hit hard in his start. He gave up six runs on seven hits with a strikeout in just 1 2/3 innings. Sergio Santos hit a three run homer while Manuel Mayorson singled, drove in two and scored a run.
Game two was a pitcher’s duel with the Fisher Cats coming out on top 2-1. Jo Matamuto gave up one run on four hits with five strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings in his start while Tracy Thorpe picked up the win with two shutout frames to close out the game. Chip Cannon doubled home the winning run in the top of the ninth inning.
Rob Cosby had a big day at the plate in the Fisher Cats 7-2 win over Erie. He went four for five with an RBI and two runs. Manuel Mayorson went three for five with a double and a run.
Brandon League picked up the win with two shutout innings of relief. He gave up just one hit and he struck out two.
David Purcey dropped to 3-2 on the season with a tough start in the Fisher Cats 7-5 loss to Binghamton. He gave up five runs on six hits and three walks with three strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings.
Manuel Mayorson had a nice day at the plate in the loss. He went three for five with two doubles, two RBIS and two runs. Aaron Mathews went four for five with a run.
Robinson Diaz drove in three runs on two hits in the Fisher Cats 7-5 win. Manuel Mayorson drove in two runs while Aaron Mathews and David Smith each scored two runs.
Michael MacDonald had a mixed start. He gave up five runs but just one of them was earned and he gave up just three hits and three walks in 6 1/3 innings. Jo Matumoto picked up the win with 1 2/3 innings of no-hit ball.
Wayne Lydon got it done with the stick for the Fisher Cats this afternoon as they beat New Britain 6-4. Lydon went two for four with three RBIs and Manuel Mayorson went three for five with two runs. Chip Cannon had a tough time today and he struck out all five times he came to the plate.
Jesse Litsch had a decent start and he picked up the win. He gave up three runs on seven hits with four strikeouts in six innings of work.
