The Lugnuts took both of their games in a doubleheader sweep over the White Caps. The first game was a 13-6 win with plenty of offense. Matthew Lane had three hits and four RBIs while Travis Snider went two for four with two RBIs and two runs. Reidier Gonzalez improved to 2-0 and he gave up four runs in six innings.
The second game was a 7-1 win with Adrian Martin having another nice start. He gave up one run on five hits with six strikeouts in six innings. Brian Pettway went two for three with two RBIs and two runs while Raul Barron went two for three with a triple, two RBIs and a run.
The Lugnuts lost 3-2 to the White Caps and both runs were provided by Brian Pettway. He only had one hit, but it was a two run homer.
Julio Pinto took the loss and he gave up two runs in one inning. A nice start by Kyle Ginley was wasted. He gave up just one run on four hits and a walk with three strikeouts in six innings.
The Lugnuts beat the White Caps 6-2 and Matthew Lane led the way for the Lugnuts at the plate. He went three for four with a double, three RBIs and a run.
Graham Godfrey improved to 2-1 with a solid start. He gave up two runs on six hits and two walks with four strikeouts in five innings of work.
The Lugnuts lost to the Loons 8-6 and two pitchers were hit particularly hard. Nathan Starner gave up four runs in his four inning start and then Edward Rodriguez gave up four runs and he took the loss in two relief innings.
Yuber Rodriguez hit a big three run homer in the loss. Chris Emanuele went one for five and he both scored and drove in a run.
Yuber Rodriguez had a big day at the plate in the Lugnuts 10-3 win over the Loons. He was a perfect four for four with three doubles and four runs scored. Scott Campbell went two for four and he drove in three runs.
Reidier Gonzalez picked up his first win. He gave up one run on seven hits and two walks with three strikeouts in six innings of work.
The Lugnuts were blown out by the Loons 13-6 and Kyle Ginley dropped to 0-4 on the season with a tough start in the game. He gave up eight runs (five earned) on eight hits and a walk with five strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings. Three of the hits he gave up went over the fence.
Yuber Rodriguez was the hitting star in the loss. He went three for five with a double and a solo homerun.
The Chiefs scored two runs in the eighth inning off of Po-Hsuan Keng to result in a 5-4 Lugnuts loss. Adrian Martin was very impressive in his relief appearance. He struck out seven in 3 1/3 shutout innings.
Joey Metropoulos doubled and he drove in two runs in the loss. Brian Pettway went two for four with a double, a run and an RBI.
The Lugnuts hammered the Chiefs 8-2 and Sean Shoffit led the way at the plate. He went two for four with a triple, a homerun, four RBIs and two runs. Yuber Rodriguez went two for four with a homerun and three runs scored.
Lost in all the offense was a nice start by Nathan Starner. He improved to 4-4 and he gave up two runs (one earned) on three hits and three walks with eight strikeouts.
The Lugnuts lost to the Chiefs 7-5 and Chase Lirette gave up all seven of those runs. He gave up eleven hits and two walks with four strikeouts in six innings.
Yubur Rodriguez was the hitting star. He went three for five with a solo homerun.
Josh Bell hit a huge two run homer in the top of the eleventh to win it for the Lugnuts 5-3. Yuber Rodriguez also brought a big stick and he went three for six with two doubles, an RBI and a run.
Reidier Gonzalez had a nice start in the win. He gave up two runs (one earned) on six hits with three strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings. Paul Phillips picked up the win with 2 1/3 innings of shutout relief.
Lansing topped Wisconsin 2-1 and Matthew Lane singled home both of the Lugnuts runs in the sixth inning. Brian Pettway singled, drew a walk and scored a run.
Kyle Ginley struck out seven and gave up one run in four innings of work in his start. Adrian Martin picked up the win with two shutout innings of relief.
The Lugnuts beat Wisconsin 7-4 and Travis Snider had a hand in five of those seven runs. He went two for four with a double, a homerun, four RBIs and two runs.
Zachary Dials picked up the win with a decent start. He improved to 3-3 on the season and he gave up three runs on six hits and two walks with two strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings.
It’s hard to start on this one. On the one hand, the pitching held Wisconsin to just one hit in the shutout. On the other hand, the hitters racked up eleven runs on eleven hits.
Matthew Liuzza was very productive inthe 11-0 win. He went two for five with a double, a homerun and five RBIs. Travis Snider also had a great game and he went three for four with a homerun, two RBIs and three runs.
On the pitching side, Nathan Starner threw five innings of no-hit ball. He gave up two hits and he struck out eight and the win pushes his record to 3-4 on the season.
The Lugnuts lost 4-3 to Wisconsin and they picked up just four hits in the game. Travis Snyder doubled, acored a run and drove in one. Scott Campbell doubled, walked twice and scored a run.
Chase Lirette had a tough start. He gave up four runs on seven hits and one walk with five strikeouts in six innings of work.
Graham Godfrey got it done for six innings but the pen gave up three late runs and a lack of run support in the Lugnuts 5-3 loss to South Bend. He gave up two runs (one earned) on six hits and two walks with six strikeouts.
Travis Snider provided most of the offense. He went two for four with a double and he drove in all three Lugnuts runs.
The Lugnuts got plenty of offense in their 12-7 win over South Bend. Sean Shoffit went three for five and he scored three times while Chris Guitierrez went two for five with a double, three RBIs and two runs.
Seth Overbey picked up the win with another solid relief appearance. He gave up three hits and he struck out two in 2 1/3 innings.
Zachary Dials had a tough time today in the Lugnuts 7-1 loss to South Bend. He gave up seven runs (four earned) on eight hits and two walks with one strikeout in four innings. The loss dropped Patton to 2-3 on the season and it’s his second tough start in a row.
Chris Gutierrez had the only extra base hit for the Lugnuts and he also had the only RBI of the game. Josh Bell went two for three and he scored the only run.
