Josh Banks Is Hit Hard In Chiefs Loss

Josh Banks fell to 7-6 on the season with a tough start in the Chiefs 7-4 loss to the Red Sox.  He gave up five runs on nine hits and one walk with four strikeouts in five innings of work.

Adam Lind went two for three with a double, an RBI, two walks and two runs.  Kevin Barker went three for five with a double and an RBI.

Chiefs Held To Four Hits In Shutout Loss to Yankees

The Chiefs got nothing from their hitters in an 8-0 loss to the Yankees.  Wayne Lydon was the hitting star from the leadoff spot.  He went two for three with a double, a triple and a walk.

Josh Banks took the loss and he fell to 6-5 on the season.  He gave up four runs on eight hits and two walks with three strikeouts in six innings.

Josh Banks Pitches Chiefs to Win Over Mud Hens

Josh Banks improved to 6-4 on the season with a nice start in the Chief’s 6-4 win over Toledo.  He gave up two runs on five hits and a walk with six strikeouts in six solid innings.

Erik Kratz doubled and drove in two runs in the win.  Kevin Barker went three for three with a run and an RBI.

Chiefs’ Pen Hit Hard In Loss to Toledo

Josh Banks took the loss in this game and while he did fall to 5-3 on the season, it was the pen that really put this out of reach in the 9-2 loss.  Banks gave up three runs in 6 2/3 innings while the pen was tagged for six runs in the eighth inning alone.

John-Ford Griffin was the hitting star although the Chiefs picked up just four hits in this one.  He finished the game two for four.

Chiefs Blowout Norfolk for Sixth Straight Win

Chad Mottola had a big day at the plate in the Chief’s 10-4 win.  He went two for four with a homerun, two RBIs and two runs.  Wayne Lydon tripled twice, scored twice and drove in one while Brad Hassey went three for four with a double and two runs.

Josh Banks picked up the win and he improved to 5-2.  He gave up three runs on seven hits and a walk with two strikeouts in five innings.

Josh Banks Gives Up Ten Runs In Chiefs Loss

The Chiefs were blown out 10-4 and all ten of the runs given up came in the first two innings off of Josh Banks.  He gave up ten runs on eleven hits with a strikeout and he was credited with only one inning of work.  In his previous four starts, he had given up just eleven runs and it was his first start where he gave up more then four.

Kevin Barker and Erik Kratz hit two run homers.  John Hattig doubled, drew a walk and scored two runs.

Chiefs Win Third Straight Game In One Run Game Against Bulls

The Chiefs got some solid pitching in their third straight win.  Josh Banks gave up three runs and he struck out seven in seven innings.  Brian Wolfe gave up one run in his two innings and he picked up the win.

Chad Mottola was the hitting star. He went two for three with a run.

Josh Banks Drops First Game in Loss to Bats

Josh Banks lost his first start of the season and he dropped to 4-1 in the Chiefs 5-4 loss to the Bats.  He gave up five runs on seven hits and two walks with seven strikeouts in six innings of work.  The seven strikeouts is a season high and despite not striking out a ton of batters, his walk rate is pretty awesome.  With the two walks in today’s game, he now has walked just six batters in 47 1/3 innings.

Erik Kratz hit a solo homerun in the loss.  Jeff Duncan went one for three with a walk and two runs scored.

Chiefs Lose Both Ends Of A Double Header Against Bats

The Chiefs dropped back to back one run games against the Bats today.  In the first game, Josh Banks was hit hard and he gave up four runs in five innings and James Vermilyea gave up two runs in an inning and a third as he took the loss.  Curtis Thigpen homered and he drove in two runs while Wayne Lydon went two for four with a double and two runs.

In the second game, the Chiefs managed just two runs in the 3-2 loss.  Russ Adams had two hits including a solo homerun and Erik Kratz went two for three with a run.  A pretty good start by Dustin McGowan went to waste and he gave up one run in six innings while Beau Kemp was credited with two runs without getting single batter out and he took the loss.

Chiefs Take Two in Doubleheader Over Yankees

The Chiefs took it to the Yankees today and won both ends of a doubleheader. In they first game, Kevin Barker had three hits and four RBIs and Curtis Thigpen had two hits, three runs and three RBIs in the 8-2 win.  Josh Banks picked up the win with a seven inning complete game.  He gave up two runs on eight hits with two strikeouts.

The second game was closer but the end result was the same.  Thigpen had the game winner with a walk off two run homer.  Matt Roney picked up the win with 2 1/3 innings of shutout relief.  He struck out four.

Josh Banks Hit Hard in First Chiefs Loss

Josh Banks was knocked around in the Chiefs 9-5 loss to the Durham Bulls.  He gave up four runs on eight hits in six innings with four strikeouts.  Each of the two Chiefs relievers also gave up at least two runs in the blowout loss.

John-Ford Griffin and Adam Lind both hit their second homeruns in the loss.  Lind’s was a two run shot while Griffin’s came with nobody on base.
