The Lugnuts went two and out as they were eliminated by the defending champs, the West Michigan White Caps. Adrian Martin just couldn’t get on track in a tough start and he took the loss. He gave up five runs on seven hits with four strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings.
Travis Snyder doubled twice and drove in two runs in the 6-3 loss. Jonathan Diaz singled twice and he scored twice.
Kyle Ginley was hammered and he gave up most of the damage in the Lugnuts 13-6 win over Beloit. He gave up seven runs on eight hits and two walks with five strikeouts in just 2 2/3 innings. All three relievers also gave up at least a run in the loss.
Jonathan Diaz went two for four with a triple, a run and an RBI. Scott Campbell went two for four with two runs.
Nathan Starner improved to 2-0 on the season with a nice start. He gave up just two runs on eight hits and two walks with three strikeouts in six innings of work.
Scott Campbell singled, drew a walk and scored twice in the 5-4 win. Jonathan Diaz had two hits and two runs and Yuber Rodriguez drove in two.
Kyle Ginley gave up just one unearned run on two hits and walk in five innings in the Lug Nuts 3-1 win. He struck out five. Because of the late win, Julio Pinto picked up the win when he got the final two batters out.
The big hit was a big two run walk off homerun by Brian Pettway. Jonathan Diaz singled in the other run.
Lansing was on the short end of a 2-1 pitchers duel and their hitters managed just a single run on three hits. The lone run came in the fifth inning when Travis Snider drove home Jonathan Diaz on a sac. fly.
A decent start by Nathan Starner went to waste. He gave up two runs (one earned) on two hits and one walk with six strikeouts in five innings of work.
