Josh Banks Drops First Game in Loss to Bats

by @ 10:28 am. Filed under Josh Banks, Erik Kratz, Jeff Duncan, Syracuse Chiefs - May 2007

Josh Banks lost his first start of the season and he dropped to 4-1 in the Chiefs 5-4 loss to the Bats.  He gave up five runs on seven hits and two walks with seven strikeouts in six innings of work.  The seven strikeouts is a season high and despite not striking out a ton of batters, his walk rate is pretty awesome.  With the two walks in today’s game, he now has walked just six batters in 47 1/3 innings.

Erik Kratz hit a solo homerun in the loss.  Jeff Duncan went one for three with a walk and two runs scored.

Syracuse Held to One Run in Loss to Charlotte

by @ 11:46 pm. Filed under Syracuse Chiefs - April 2007, Mike Vento, Jeff Duncan, Ismael Ramirez

The Chiefs lost to Charlotte earlier today and while they got some decent pitching, the Chiefs never could get the bats going.  The lone run came in the eighth inning when Mike Vento singled home Jeff Duncan.

Ismael Ramirez gave up three runs in four innings in the 3-1 loss.  Give some props to the pen though.  They held Charlotte to just one hit in four shutout innings.
