Howie Clark hit a big three run homer in the Chiefs 8-5 win over Norfolk. John-Ford Griffin doubled twice and scored two runs while Russ Adams went two for five with a double, two RBIs and a run.
Ismael Ramirez was roughed up in his start but the pen and hitters picked him up. Jordan De Jong picked up the win with a 1 1/3 shutout frames.
Howie Clark led the Chiefs at the plate in their 9-2 win over the Red Sox. He went three for five with a double and four RBIs. Russ Adams went two for four with two runs and an RBI.
Lost in all the offense was a nice start by Michael MacDonald. He gave up four hits and a walk with six strikeouts in seven shutout innings.
The Chiefs lost 3-2 to Pawtucket and their offense picked up just four hits in the loss. Howie Clark hit a solo homerun and John Hattig doubled and he drove in a run.
John Thomson had a nice start go to waste. He gave up two runs on six hits and three walks with six strikeouts in six innings of work.
Down 3-1, the Chiefs came from behind to beat Indianapolis 7-5. Howie Clark went one for four but the one hit was a homerun. He drove in two and scored twice. Curtis Thigpen went three for four with two doubles and a run.
Justin James picked up the win with 2 2/3 innings of solid relief. He gave up just one unearned run on one hit with two strikeouts and the win improved his record to 1-0 on the season.
