David Smith belted a two run homer in the top of the eleventh inning to win it for the Fisher Cats in their 7-5 vistory over the Thunder. Rob Cosby also had a big day at the plate. He went two for five with a double, a homerun and three RBIs.
Jesse Carlson picked up the win and he improved to 7-1 on the season. He gave up just one hit in 2 1/3 innings of relief. Kyle Yates threw 6 2/3 shutout innings in a nice start.
Talk about an impressive comeback. The Fisher Cats scored five runs in the top of the ninth to send the game into extra frames after being down 5-0 and then David Smith doubled home Ryan Patterson in the top of the tenth for the winning run. Robinzon Diaz had a big three run homer in that ninth inning and he finished the game three for six.
Matt Roney picked up the win and he improved to 2-1 on the season. He pitched a shutout ninth but it was an important inning.
Eric Fowler was shelled in the Fisher Cats 12-1 blowout loss to New Britain. He gave up eight runs on eleven hits and one walk with one strikeout in just 3 2/3 innings of work and the loss drops him to 2-4 on the season.
David Smith drove in the only run of the game for the Fisher Cats. He had just one hit but it was a solo homerun that was his fifth of the year.
Yusaku Iriki didn’t pick up the win, but he threw six solid innings in the Fisher Cats 5-1 win over Erie. He gave up one run on five hits and two walks with two strikeouts. Jesse Carlson picked up the win with a 2 2/3 innings of shutout relief.
Rob Cosby was the hitting star in the win. He went three for four with a double, an RBI and a run. David Smith went two for four with a double and two RBIs.
Akron took it to the Fisher Cats in a 10-4 game and David Purcey was simply dismantled in this game. He was tagged with all ten runs on twelve hits and three walks in just 3 2/3 innings.
David Smith was the hitting star. He doubled twice and he scored two of the four runs.
Russ Savickas had a nice start and he improved to 1-1 in the Fisher Cats 3-2 win over Reading. He gave up two runs on eight hits and four walks with two strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings.

David Purcey lost his first start of the season and dropped to 3-1 in the Fisher Cats 10-5 loss. He gave up six runs on six hits and two walks with four strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings.
David Smith provided most of the offense in the loss with a three run homer. Aaron Mathews went one for four with two RBIs and a run.
Robinson Diaz drove in three runs on two hits in the Fisher Cats 7-5 win. Manuel Mayorson drove in two runs while Aaron Mathews and David Smith each scored two runs.
Michael MacDonald had a mixed start. He gave up five runs but just one of them was earned and he gave up just three hits and three walks in 6 1/3 innings. Jo Matumoto picked up the win with 1 2/3 innings of no-hit ball.
The Fisher Cats lost to Portland 4-2 and Kyle Yates took the loss. He gave up three runs on six hits and four walks with two strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings.
David Smith singled, drew a walk and scored. Chip Cannon was the only Fisher Cat to reach base three times and he did it with a single and two walks.
While Justin James took the loss in the Fisher Cats 5-2 loss, he didn’t throw all that bad at least from what the box score indicates. He gave up just one run on two hits and a walk with three strikeouts in four innings of work. The problem was, three different relievers each gave up at least a run and that had as much to do with the Fisher Cats losing then anything.
The lack of offense didn’t help either. Robinson Diaz drove in both runs in a nice game. He went three for four with a double. David Smith went two for four with two doubles and a run.
