Dunedin took a 3-1 lead into the ninth inning but the pen gave up two runs in the ninth and then one more in the tenth to lose it 4-3. Connor Falkenbach blew the lead by giving up the two runs while Yesson Berroa gave up the losing run in the tenth. A nice start by Kristian Bell went to waste. He gave up one run on six hits with two strikeouts in six innings of work.
Carlo Cota went two for five with a double and an RBI in the loss. Al Quintana went two for four with a run and an RBI.
The first game of a double header between Dunedin and Sarasota was a blow out but in the second game, we got some solid pitching to at least walk away with one win. Game one saw the Jays get shutout on seven hits and Brandon Magee was shelled for six runs and he didn’t even last through the second inning in the 8-0 loss.
Game two went a bit better as the Jays won 2-1. Aaron Tressler threw four shutout innings and didn’t get a decision while Ted Serro gave up a run in 1 2/3 innings but he picked up the win. Connor Falkenbach got the final four batters out and he earned his third save of the season.
Josh Kreuzer was the hitting star. He doubled in a run and he also scored a run.
