Mikel McDonald Pitches Chiefs to Win Over Pawtucket

Mikel McDonald improved to 3-6 on the season with a nice start in the Chiefs’ 8-4 win over Pawtucket.  He gave up two runs on seven hits and one walk with four strikeouts in six innings of work.

Mike Vento homered and drove in three runs in the win.  Chad Mottola went two for three with a walk, two runs and two RBIs.

Victor Zambrano Is Shelled In Chiefs Loss

Victor Zambrano fell to 1-1 on the season with a rough start in the Chiefs 7-4 loss to the Yankees.  He gave up seven runs on three walks with two strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings.

Chad Mottola provided most of the offense in the loss.  He went two for four with two homeruns and three RBIs.

Chiefs Held to Six Hits In Shutout Loss

The Chiefs managed just six hits in their 6-0 loss to the Mud Hens.  Chad Mottola was the only Chief with two hits and he went two for four with a double.

John Thomson was roughed up and he dropped to 2-2 on the season.  He gave up six runs on seven hits and four walks with four strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings.

Michael MacDonald Pitches Chiefs to Win Over Clippers

Michael MacDonald got it done for the Chiefs in their 6-1 win over the Clippers.  He gave up one run on eight hits and two walks with one strikeout in seven innings of work.

Chad Mottola hit a two run homer in the win.  Kevin Barker went one for one with two walks, two RBIs and two runs.

Chiefs Blowout Norfolk for Sixth Straight Win

Chad Mottola had a big day at the plate in the Chief’s 10-4 win.  He went two for four with a homerun, two RBIs and two runs.  Wayne Lydon tripled twice, scored twice and drove in one while Brad Hassey went three for four with a double and two runs.

Josh Banks picked up the win and he improved to 5-2.  He gave up three runs on seven hits and a walk with two strikeouts in five innings.

Jim Crowell Is Hit Hard in Chiefs Loss

Jim Crowell ddn’t even last four innings in the Chiefs 4-2 loss to the Bulls. He gave up three runs on seven hits with a strikeout in 3 1/3 innings.

John Hattig went three for four with an RBI. Chad Mottola went two for four and he scored a run in the loss.

Chiefs Win Third Straight Game In One Run Game Against Bulls

The Chiefs got some solid pitching in their third straight win.  Josh Banks gave up three runs and he struck out seven in seven innings.  Brian Wolfe gave up one run in his two innings and he picked up the win.

Chad Mottola was the hitting star. He went two for three with a run.

Chiefs Three Game Winning Streak Ends With Loss to Rochester

Ismael Ramirez had a tough start in the Chiefs’ 5-2 loss to Rochester.  He gave up four runs on eight hits and three walks with three strikeouts in just three innings.  The loss drops him to 0-3 on the season.

Both Chiefs runs came on one swing of the bat.  John Hattig homered and drove in both runs.  Chad Mottola went two for four with a double and a run.

Syracuse Splits Doubleheader With Ottawa

Syracuse won one and lost one today in a doubleheader with Ottawa.  In the first game, the pitchers threw a shutout with Ty Taubenheim picking up the win.  He gave up just seven hits and one walk with three strikeouts in six innings of work.  Mike Vento had a huge day at the plate.  He went three for three with two doubles, a homerun, two RBIs and two runs.  John-Ford Griffin drove in two with a homerun and he now has ten on the season.

In the second game, the Chiefs fell short of coming back in a 4-3 loss.  Ismael Ramirez lost his second game of the season and he gave up three runs on five hits and two walks with two strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings.  Chad Mottola went two for three with two RBIs and John Ford Griffin had another nice game with two hits and two runs.
