Auburn put eleven runs on the board in a 11-3 win over Staten Island. While it was a team effort and most of the team either scored a run or drove something in, Kelly Sweppenhiser was the hitting star. He went one for four but his one hit was a two run homer and he finished with two runs.
Cody Crowell improved to 2-1 on the season and he gave up one run 2 1/3 innings. Luis Perez threw 4 2/3 shutout innings and he struck out seven batters.
Three errors led to four unearned runs as Staten Island beat Auburn 9-5. Shane Benson took the loss and he fell to 1-1 on the season. He gave up three runs (two earned) on seven hits and a walk with three strikeouts in four innings.
Adam Calderone belted a three run homer in the loss. Victor Santana went two for three with a solo homerun and two runs.
Auburn was shutout for most of this game and they entered the eighth inning down 4-0. They scored two in the eighth and one in the ninth to make it close, but they still fell just short in the loss.
Victor Santana singled and drove in two runs in the loss. Benjamin Zeskind went two for three with a walk and a run. Wilfreddy Aguirre took the loss and he fell to 0-3 on the season. He gave up four runs (three earned) on five hits and two walks with four strikeouts in six innings of work.
