James Dougher Throws Four Shutout Innings In GCL Blue Jays Win

The GCL Blue Jays took care of the GCL Indians 4-0 as three pitchers combined to throw a three hit shutout.  James Dougher threw four shutout frames in his start and then Frank Gailey threw 3 1/3 shutout innings to pick up the win.

Moises Sierra had the big hit of the game. He belted a two run homer in the fifth inning that put the Jays on the board.

Doubledays Shut Out Mahoning Valley 5-0

Three Auburn pitchers combined to shutout Mahoning Valley in a 5-0 win.  Joe Wice picked up the win with three shutout innings.  He gave up three hits and a walk with three strikeouts.

Manuel Rodriguez belted a two run homer in the ninth inning.  Benjamin Zeskind went three for five and he scored a run.

Lugnuts Held to Five Hits In Loss to White Caps

The Lugnuts were pretty much completely shut down in a 4-1 loss to the White Caps.  Matthew Lane was the only Lugnut with two hits and he also drove in the only run for the Lugnuts with a solo homerun.

Kyle Ginley fell to 1-5 on the season with the loss.  He gave up three runs on four hits and three walks with four strikeouts in four innings.

Dunedin Scores Six Late Runs to Edge Daytona

Dunedin scored two runs in seventh and four in the eighth to come from behind from three down to beat Daytona 6-5.  Cory Patton doubled twice and he both scored and drove in a run.  Jacob Butler had a single, two walks and two runs.

Aaron Tressler picked up the win and he improved to 4-5 on the season.  He gave up two runs on four hits and three walks with three strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings.

Fisher Cats Blown Out By New Britain 12-1

Eric Fowler was shelled in the Fisher Cats 12-1 blowout loss to New Britain.  He gave up eight runs on eleven hits and one walk with one strikeout in just 3 2/3 innings of work and the loss drops him to 2-4 on the season.

David Smith drove in the only run of the game for the Fisher Cats.  He had just one hit but it was a solo homerun that was his fifth of the year.

Victor Zambrano Pitches Chiefs to Win Over Charlotte

Victor Zambrano improved to 2-1 on the season with a nice start in the Chiefs 7-2 win over Charlotte. He gave up two runs on two hits with three walks and eight strikeouts in seven innings.

Kevin Barker was the hitting star in the win.  He went two for four with a solo homerun and two runs.  John-Ford Griffin went one for four with a homerun, two RBIs and two runs.

Chiefs Held To Four Hits In Shutout Loss to Yankees

The Chiefs got nothing from their hitters in an 8-0 loss to the Yankees.  Wayne Lydon was the hitting star from the leadoff spot.  He went two for three with a double, a triple and a walk.

Josh Banks took the loss and he fell to 6-5 on the season.  He gave up four runs on eight hits and two walks with three strikeouts in six innings.

Doubledays Shutout In Loss to Williamsport

This was kind of a trend with the Jays minor league affiliates but the Auburn Doubledays were shutout on just four hits.  Adam Calderone was the only hitter with two hits and the only hitter with an extra base hit with his two doubles.

Kyle Walter took the loss and he fell to 0-1 on the season.  He gave up three runs on four hits and three walks with five strikeouts in five innings.

Lugnuts Held to Five Hits In Loss to Fort Wayne

Lugnut hitters picked up just one run on five hits in their 6-1 loss to Fort Wayne.  Travis Snider drove in the only run of the game and Scott Campbell singled and scored a run.

A really good start by Zachary Dials went to waste.  He gave up one run on four hits and a walk with four strikeouts in seven innings.  Po-Hsuan Keng was shelled and he took the loss when he gave up five runs in the final two innings.

A.J. Wideman Has Rough Start In Dunedin Loss

A.J. Wideman was roughed up in Dunedin’s 6-5 loss to St. Lucie.  He gave up five runs on eleven hits with three strikeouts in six innings.

No Dunedin hitter had more then one hit although Chris Gutierrez belted a two run homer.  Brian Jeroloman had a nice game and he went one for two with two walks and two runs.

Kurt Isenberg Is Hit Hard In Fisher Cats Loss

Kurt Isenberg had a tough time in the Fisher Cats 8-3 loss to Portland.  He gave up five runs on eight hits and two walks with six strikeouts in five innings and the loss drops him to 2-4 on the season.

Chip Cannon was the hitting star in the loss.  He went two for three with a walk and an RBI.

Jacob Butler Drives in Four In Dunedin Win

Jacob Butler had a huge day at the plate in Dunedin’s 9-4 win over Clearwater.  He went three for four with a double, a homerun, four RBIs and two runs.  Jesus Gonzalez went two for four with a homerun and three RBIs.

Aaron Tressler improved to 3-5 on the season with a nice start.  He gave up just one run on eight hits and a walk with five strikeouts in six innings.

Fisher Cats Pitchers Give Up Seventeen Runs In Loss to Portland

New Hampshire’s pitchers was pummelled in a 17-2 beating at the hands of Portland.  Kyle Yates gave up six runs in 4 2/3 and he fell to 5-3 in his start but three other reliefers gave up between two and five runs.

Robinzon Diaz went three for five with a double and a run.  Rob Cosby doubled twice and he drove in a run.

Victor Zambrano Is Shelled In Chiefs Loss

Victor Zambrano fell to 1-1 on the season with a rough start in the Chiefs 7-4 loss to the Yankees.  He gave up seven runs on three walks with two strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings.

Chad Mottola provided most of the offense in the loss.  He went two for four with two homeruns and three RBIs.

GCL Blue Jays Held to Four Hits In Loss to GCL Braves

The GCL Blue Jays managed just four singles in a 5-1 loss to the GCL Braves.  Roger Ebarb went one for two with two walks and a run while Balbino Fuenmayor went one for three with a walk and an RBI.

Marcus Walden took the loss and he fell to 0-1 on the season.  He gave up two runs on four hits and with two strikeouts in two innings.

Manuel Rodriguez Helps Hit Doubledays to Win Over Williamsport

Auburn ran up the score on Williamsport in a 9-6 win.  Manuel Rodriguez was one of the hitting stars in the win.  He went three for four with two doubles, two RBIs and a run.  Baron Frost also had a nice game and he went three for five with a double, an RBI and a run.

Javier Nieves picked up the win with some solid relief work.  He gave up two walks with four strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings.

Sean Shoffit Helps Power Lugnuts to Win Over Fort Wayne

Sean Shoffit got the Lugnuts going with a big two run homer in the sixth inning.  Shoffit finished the game with two hits and two runs while Chris Emanuele went two for three with a double, a run and an RBI.

Edward Rodriguez picked up the win after the three pitchers before him all gave up runs.  The win pushed his record to 3-1 on the season.

Joel Carreno Throws Five Shutout Innings in GCL Blue Jays Win

Joel Carreno had an impressive start in the GCL Blue Jay’s 2-0 win over the GCL Braves.  He gave up two hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in five shutout innings.

Roger Ebarb and Bartolo Nicolas were the hitting stars in the win. They both doubled and scored runs.

Baron Frost’s Three Run Homer Wins It For Doubledays

Auburn beat Batavia 3-2 and it was Baron Frost who had the big hit of the game.  His three run homer provided the Doubledays with just enough runs to win it.

Ronald Lowe picked up the win. He struck out one in a shutout inning.

Travis Snider Powers Lugnuts to Win Over Fort Wayne

Travis Snider led the way at the plate in the Lugnuts 9-1 win over Fort Wayne.  He went two for three with a homerun and three RBIs.  Yuber Rodriguez triped, drove in three and scored a run.

Graham Godfrey had a nice start and he improved to 4-2 on the season.  He gave up one run on four hits and one walks with three strikeouts in six solid innings.

Dunedin Starts Second Season With Loss

Dunedin was held to a single run in their 2-1 loss to Clearwater as the second half of the season kicked off. Josh Kreuzer was the biggest contributor with the stick.  He went two for three with a double and an RBI.

Kristian Bell improved to 2-6 on the season with a mediocre start.  He gave up two runs on seven hits with three strikeouts in five innings.

Chiefs End Skid With 9-5 Win Over Richmond

Justin James was impressive and he improved to 2-2 on the season with 3 1/3 perfect innings.  No walks and no hits and he struck out three.

John-Ford Griffin was the hitter of the game.  He went two for three with a homerun, three RBIs and two runs.

Eric Fowler Throws Six Shutout Innings In Fisher Cats Win

Eric Fowler improved to 1-0 on the season with six shutout innings in the Fisher Cats 2-0 win.  He gave up five hits and two walks with three strikeouts.

Sergio Santos went two for five with an RBI.  Chip Cannon went three for four.

GCL Blue Jays Blown Out By GCL Yankees

Brad Cuthbertson took the loss for the GCL Blue Jays bit this loss was pretty much a team effort as four different pitchers all gave up at least one run.  Cuthberton gave up two runs on seven hits and a walk with five strikeouts in just four innings.

Vohermyn Chavez was the hitting star in the loss. He went two for three with a walk and a run.

Auburn Held to Four Hits In Shutout Loss

Auburn didn’t have a pleasant season opener as they were shutout on four hits in a 7-0 loss to Batavia.  No Auburn hitter had more then on hit and only Paul Franko had an extra base hit with a double.

Wilfreddy Aguirre fell to 0-1 with a rough start.  He gave up three runs on five hits and three walks with three strikeouts in four innings.

Dunedin Edges Lakeland 6-4

Robert Ray picked up his first win of the season with 4 1/3 innings of solid relief.  He gave up two runs on six hits with three strikeouts.  Ricardo Romero had a decent start but he just missed an official game.  He gave up two runs on four hits and a walk with two strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings.

Kyle Phillips was the hitting star in the win.  He went two for four with a double, a homerun and two runs scored.  Josh Kreuzer went two for three with a double, a walk a run and an RBI.

Fisher Cats Split Doubleheader With New Britain

The Fisher Cats and New Britain each took a game in their doubleheader.  New Britain took the first game 9-8 Russ Savickas was hit hard in his start.  He gave up six runs on seven hits with a strikeout in just 1 2/3 innings.  Sergio Santos hit a three run homer while Manuel Mayorson singled, drove in two and scored a run.

Game two was a pitcher’s duel with the Fisher Cats coming out on top 2-1.  Jo Matamuto gave up one run on four hits with five strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings in his start while Tracy Thorpe picked up the win with two shutout frames to close out the game.  Chip Cannon doubled home the winning run in the top of the ninth inning.

Ryan Houston Is Shelled In Chiefs Loss

Ryan Houston fell to 1-2 on the season with a very rough relief appearance in the Chiefs’ 8-4 loss to Richmond.  He gave five runs on five hits and a walk with one strikeout in just 2/3 of an inning. 

Mike Vento was the hitting star in the loss.  He went two for three with a homerun, three RBIs and two runs.

GCL Blue Jays Win Franchise’s First Game

The Blue Jays newest affiliate, the GCL Blue Jays, won their first game as they topped the GCL Yankees 2-1.  Ross Buckwalter picked up the win with a shutout inning of relief and Kyle Walters gave up just one run on four hits and two walks with six strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings.

Jonathan Del Campo was the hitting star and he played a roll in both Jays runs.  He went two for four with a double, a run and an RBI.

Chip Cannon Scores Three Runs In Fisher Cats Win

The Fisher Cats came from behind to beat New Britain 7-6.  Chip Cannon was one of the top hitters and he went two for three with a homerun and three runs scored.  Sergio Santos also had a nice game and he went two for five with a double, a homerun and two RBIs.

Kurt Isenberg improved to 2-3 with the win. He gave up four runs on eight hits with four strikeouts in seven solid innings.
